A true representation of the transitional architectural style by acclaimed architect Richard Wengle, Nivek Remas was brought on board as the residential interior designers Toronto. The main floor is immediately grounded from the entry by a striking sixty foot long custom runner, gradating from soft blushes to coppery reds - giving a clue to the color palette of the adjacent spaces beyond…
The methodology for the project was to update and neutralize the interior architecture and bring personality to the spaces through a contemporary lens through soft lines and color.
The soft palette in the front sitting dining room is purposeful in order to provide a clean backdrop to feature the incredible art collection that includes pieces by Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Keith Haring and Banksy.
The warmer burnt orange tones in the family room by comparison offer a cozy backdrop for the family to gather and share intimate moments. Adding to the space, the double-story bookshelf creates the perfect back drop to the family room, accessorized by NR with custom covered books by Juniper Books and stone accessories.
Entering the primary suite, a walnut corridor and closet guides one bedroom where the amber color palette is based from a rich yellow art piece from an artist originally the same hometown as the client.
The son was drawn to colors during the magic hour of sunsets, so NR created a room with custom ombre wallpaper reminiscent of sunsets and accented with B&B Italia dichroic pieces.
At NIVEK REMAS, we like to design custom the areas rugs for each room to provide that personalized touch. That’s especially true for the basement that used to entertain guests as a cool music bar lounge, where the limited edition Steinway and custom designed bronze bar sits on top a custom silk-wool floral patterned area rug.
Treated as an important extension of the interiors, the outdoor oasis creates a multitude of opportunities for entertaining and gatherings with dining, living, and lounging areas.
